COPIES AFTER THE MASTERS

This section gathers a curated selection of mastercopies and interpretative studies after significant works of art. With rigorous attention to the original techniques and methodologies of the great masters, Francesco Schiazza offers bespoke copies of celebrated works of art. Each piece is created with a deep respect for the original artist's methods and a commitment to technical precision, aiming to honour the character and craftsmanship of the source, while also reflecting the artist's own sensitivity and understanding as a painter.

Schiazza approaches every commission not simply as a reproduction, but as an opportunity to engage with the spirit and technique of the original, bringing his own artistic insight to the process.

Each copy is preceded by research into the original's composition, technique and materials drawing on museum catalogues, technical studies and, where available, published scientific analysis of the source work (see technical note of Iris. After Vincent van Gogh, 1889). Execution follows historical technique as closely as the surviving evidence allows, using contemporary materials selected for their correspondence to the originals. The use of historical materials is also available upon request.

Every piece shown below is completed and available for immediate acquisition. Schiazza also welcomes commissions: the same subject in a different size or support, a different work from the masters, or a personalised portrait. Each commission is quoted individually according to size, support and complexity. Framing available on request, quoted separately according to the client's preference.

Open to commissions - payment plans available.
