About the artist

Francesco Schiazza (b. 1996, Chieti, Italy) pursued a scientific education before turning to the visual arts. He graduated with honours from the Bachelor’s programme at the Accademia di Belle Arti di Brera in Milan, and completed the Master’s programme with distinction. He now lives and works in Nuremberg, Germany.

Schiazza has studied under notable artists and critics, including Stefano Pizzi, Andrea B. Del Guercio, and Tatjana Doll. He participated in the Erasmus+ programme, undertaking a period of study at the State Academy of Fine Arts in Karlsruhe, Germany.

Active internationally for several years, Schiazza has exhibited and published his work in Italy, Germany, Bulgaria and China.

His practice is structured in cycles or series of paintings, which led him to explore the Ars veterum, the ancient art of alchemy. His recent series «vitriol» demonstrates a particularly resonant connection to this theme, culminating in a substantial artistic essay titled «Zeig dich! Visioni dell’arte nascosta». Here, he establishes the foundational pillars for an artistic theory that positions art as a path of alchemy as a historical discipline.
